WHO labels red and processed meats as carcinogenic

The World Health Organisation has ranked cured and processed meats in the same category as cigarettes for cancer causers.
The report from WHO not only ranks processed meats as group one carcinogens due to a link with bowel cancer, but also places red meat in group 2A as ‘probably carcinogenic to humans’ due to a link with pancreatic and prostate cancer.
I spoke to Professor Dallas English from the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics about this announcement, and what it means for Australia’s meat eaters.
