It’s been going on for nearly a week now, spawning innumerable memes and much public discussion, and it even has its own name: choppergate. When Bronwyn Bishop used taxpayer money to charter that top-of-the-line helicopter for transport, you have to wonder if she realised the public outcry that would follow. I spoke to Greens senator and democracy spokesperson Lee Rhiannon about the Greens stance on this, as well as their recommendations for resolving it.
